Skirmishes was first performed at the Liverpool Playhouse in the early 1980s, and subsequently made its way into London theatre. Michael Billington described it in The Guardian as ' full of dignity, humour and emotional sturdiness...'This extended one act play invites the audience into the painful, and, at times, darkly funny, last hours of Rita and Jean's mother. It tests the sisters' fragile relationship to breaking point and reveals resentments that have been simmering for years.Skirmishes is a challenging experience for both actors and audience; it does not shirk from tackling raw emotional issues head-on.Please note.

This play does depict scenes which some may find distressing. Age guidance: 17+
